Are You Ready to Start the New Year Right?

Starting the New Year Right With a Weight Loss Detox and a Healthier Organic Lifestyle

The beginning of the new year is the perfect time to set new weight loss goals, and it gives you the opportunity to start fresh and create healthier habits. One of the best things that you can do for yourself is to start the year with a detox, which will help you to lose weight and get rid of the toxins that might be building up in your body.

Deciding on a Detox Program

There are a number of detoxprograms available on the market, but it is important that you decipher between health claims and confusing marketing. I personally suggest Purium health products because the 10-day detox program is a great way to start the year right. It is a long enough detox to allow you to flush out the toxins and get rid of 5 – 20 pounds, and you can achieve these results in a week and a half.

Some of the benefits of Purium include the simplicity of the program, the healthy ingredients that help you to break your addiction to sugar and processed foods.

Healthier Dietary Options

As you are going through a detox program, it is important to maintain a healthy diet. Establishing the right dietary habits during the detox will set you up for success after you are done with the detox. If you don’t maintain healthy eating habits, then the weight will come right back after you are done with the 10-day detox. Here are some eating guidelines to follow:

° Eat an abundance of organic fruits and vegetables. They should be a staple in your diet. You should consume about 1/2 – 1 cup of fruit a day and eat veggies with each meal. I love starting my morning off with Purium’s L.O.V. Super Meal shake.  Fruits and vegetables should be a staple in your diet. Some of my favorite fruits and vegetables, include organic strawberries, blueberries, pineapples, kale, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and asparagus.

° Avoid processed foods in any form. If it comes prepackaged, in a box, and it has been altered from the original form, then it is most likely something that you shouldn’t be eating.

° Stay away from conventional meat and choose organic instead. Be sure the meat is grass fed because it has a better nutritional profile compared with factory farmed meat. Look for organic chicken and wild caught fish.

° Increase your water intake, and make sure that it is a healthy source of water. Tap water is often fluoridated and has unhealthy pollutants, which means that your water could be harmful to your health. Choose purified water instead, so that you can hydrate in a healthy way. Water makes 60% of your body weight. It flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues. Rule of thumb for determining how much water your body needs is to divide your body weight in half.  For example, I am 115 pounds, so that means I need a minimum of about 60 ounces of water per day.

° Stay away from caffeinated foods and beverages, especially soda, coffee, and energy drinks. A better alternative is to drink tea, such as the products from Gaia’s Essence. You can also find detoxifying teas, including white, green, and rooboiu teas which are very complimentary to other detox programs.

By kick-starting the year right, you can quickly lose weight and get yourself ready for the new year. As a bonus, this detox time is beneficial to help you set new habits for the new year, so that you can maintain a healthy lifestyle all year long.
